Bild spoke to Dr. Christoph Kleinschnitz, the head of neurology at the Essen University Hospital, about the scary “neurological absences” being experienced by Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala.
While Kleinschnitz admitted that he did need to know all of the data and information surrounding Musiala’s condition, he did state that the Germany international’s condition could be a form of absence epilepsy (via @iMiaSanMia):

speaks to @BILD about Jamal Musiala’s condition: “From a neurological perspective, this could potentially be an epileptic seizure. It could be a form of absence epilepsy, as symptoms such as brief periods of unresponsiveness are consistent with it. However, we would need to know all the findings from the neurological examinations to make that assessment. It is highly treatable, but would require long-term therapy. Musiala can continue playing football.”
With the condition out in the open, Musiala and Bayern Munich can work together to get the possible treatment. While all reports to this point indicate that Musiala can continue to play, each news story also notes that this will require further treatment. Bayern Munich fans will be following closely in hopes of Musiala working through this and continuing onward with his promising career.
