Dakota Ditcheva is one of the hottest women’s prospects in mixed martial arts (MMA) right now, but the only place you’re going to see her fight for the foreseeable future is the PFL.
Ditcheva is 15-0 with 10 of those wins coming in the PFL, and 8 of those 10 coming via KO / TKO. She’s a sniper and a finisher and PFL is hoping her flashy kickboxing ways will help them finally break into the United States when she competes on this Friday’s PFL New York card at Belmont Park.
“Dangerous” sits in the co-main
slot, and above her is PFL lightweight champ Usman Nurmagomedov, who is fighting Archie Colgan in what is the Dagestani fighter’s final fight of his PFL contract. While nothing is set in stone, his teammates have signaled that Usman hopes to jump to UFC and capture a title there.
With the UFC always ready to snatch up PFL stars, it’s no surprise that the PFL has locked down Dakota Ditcheva. In a new interview with Ariel Helwani, the 28 year old shared her contractual status with the promotion. Unconfirmed reports recently suggested she was on the verge of becoming a free agent. Ditcheva shot that down.
“I saw that post the other day and thought, ‘Oh, this is new,'” she said. “It said two fights, two mil. And I was like, ‘Wrong.’ More fights, more money. I don’t know. More fights, for sure. It’s five fights, I’ve got five fights. The post is wrong. I’ve got four fights after this one.”
Ditcheva played coy about the pay side of things, saying “I don’t know about the money, I just signed some papers. I just roll with anything anyone says … I’m very happy with my paycheck. I’ve been out for a year so I can’t be saying anything too crazy right now. I’ve not even fought. I’ll humble myself a little bit. But I’m well paid. PFL look after me for sure. And I feel like I give enough back.”
After fighting three times in 2023 and four times in 2024, injuries have kept Ditcheva at just one fight in 2025. This fight against Denise Kielholtz will be her first in 2026. Hopefully the pace picks up again now that she’s healthy, but four fights will take a while to fight through even in the best of circumstances.
