At halftime, the Huskers are leading the Akron Zips by a score of 33-0, and if we’re honest, they probably left enough points on the field in the first quarter to where they should be in the mid-40’s at this point.
But that’s about all the complaining I can do.
Business is being taken care of as the Huskers have rolled up 399 yards in the first half of their first meeting with the Zips since the game that never was.
Tonight, the storm is the one being rained down on Akron on both sides of the ball.
There’s no complaining about Dylan Raiola’s yards per attempt this time around as he finished the first half 19-23 for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns. Emmett Johnson solved the breakaway problem with two TD’s and two long runs while carrying 13 times for 134 yards.
And on the other side, the Blackshirts held the Zips to 58 total yards and only 30 on the ground.
Will Matt Rhule go into straight ahead shut-down mode as in the first three games last season or will Dana Holgorsen be allowed to keep working on explosive as the Michigan game looms in the distance?
The next couple hours will tell. Now, hop in the comments and let’s get this 2nd half thread going.
