Bryce Mitchell kept things rolling at 135 pounds earlier tonight (Sat., June 6, 2026) at UFC Vegas 118 live on Paramount+ from inside UFC’s Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping highly-touted bantamweight prospect Santiago Luna with a late third-round submission (arm-triangle choke).
Looks like that tough weight cut paid off for “Thug Nasty.”
Mitchell is lucky this fight even took place. The veteran contender was originally scheduled to meet Victory Henry this weekend in “Sin City” before the latter
withdrew and Luna was asked to step in. It was a gusty decision to say the least considering Luna came into Saturday as an undefeated 21-year-old top prospect, but the Mexican brawler put it all on the line.
Unfortunately for Luna, Mitchell was on top of his game. The former featherweight has looked even better with his wrestling since dropping down to bantamweight and that was evident yet again on Saturday night. Luna had his moments along the way, but “Thug Nasty” was the one in control and forcing Luna to defend. Mitchell was able to launch a last-ditch effort at the end of the third and actually scored a submission with just eight seconds left on the clock. It was pretty impressive and should punch his ticket to the division’s top 15 rankings.
