The Pittsburgh Steelers are 5-2 with a chance to take the division lead on Sunday with a win over the Cleveland Browns at home. There’s something about this season that feels a bit different from past seasons. With no clear-cut juggernaut, the path to the Super Bowl feels as open as it has ever been. The AFC’s best teams are flawed.
With Aaron Rodgers playing great football, the defense playing well, and the opportunity to improve the roster in front of the Steelers, the team may be inclined to make
multiple trades at the deadline to push for a deep January run. What does that look like? It would likely be another receiving option (Josh Downs?).
The core of the Steelers is set with veterans. The front office should push to maximize the roster and give the leaders of this team a final look at a potential run at a Lombardi.
Here is Friday’s Three Rivers Report.
