Bayern Munich is putting an emphasis on continuity at the top of the club as it announced that the supervisory board has extended the contracts of CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and sporting director Max Eberl through June 30, 2029.
The decision was made during a regularly scheduled supervisory board meeting, giving Bayern Munich a clear indication of its desire to maintain stability within its leadership structure.

Munich believes keeping its current leadership together is important as the club looks to remain among Europe’s elite.
“Continuity provides orientation, stability creates strength: We need both to consistently develop FC Bayern at the highest level. Especially in the dynamic competition in which a top international club has to forge its own path, consistency represents a clear conviction. With Jan-Christian Dreesen, Max Eberl and Rouven Kasper, our board is excellently positioned to further advance FC Bayern both on and off the pitch and to maintain its leading position in Europe,” said Hainer.
Dreesen, who has served as chairman of the executive board since May 2023 after previously joining Bayern Munich as chief financial officer in 2013, expressed his appreciation for the confidence from the supervisory board.
“First of all, I thank the supervisory board for their trust. I am delighted to continue my work at FC Bayern with energy and passion. As the executive board team, together with our employees, members and fans, we want to continue doing everything we can to ensure that FC Bayern remains the top club we are all proud of. That is what drives us – and we still have a lot planned,” Dreesen remarked.
Eberl has been Bayern Munich’s sporting director since March 2024 and has deep personal ties to the club after coming through its youth system and making his professional debut for the first team.
“FC Bayern has been a matter close to my heart ever since my time as a youth player. Like my fellow board members, it is therefore important to me to continue on the path we have taken and to contribute everything for the sporting success of the entire FC Bayern family in the future. The trust shown by the supervisory board is a valuable sign, which I greatly appreciate,” Eberl said.
With Dreesen, Eberl and Rouven Kasper now secured through 2029, Bayern Munich has made it clear that it believes its current leadership structure is the right one to guide the club into the future.
