September results
At the time of this poll, the D-backs were on the outside of the playoff picture, but it was close. They were just one-half game behind the Padres for the last wild-card spot. Little did we know that San Diego were about to go 18-6, having themselves the best September in franchise history. Hard to compete with that. But at this point, hopes were solid, with the prospect of the rotation being strengthened by the return of Corbin Burnes early in the month. Yeah. About that… However, there was still
a sharp uptick in the lower categories, compared to August. Those below “5” increased from 10% to 31%, and “6” took over from “7” as the top category. All told? The average declined from 6.29 to 5.44.
Below, you can see the breakdown for the past 12 polls’ results, followed by the line graph showing the trends over this and previous seasons.

October poll
I said last month, “It feels very much like a glass half-full/empty situation,” and I think that may well go doubly so for this month. Happy about six wins more than last year, and in the hunt for a playoff spot until the very last game? Or disappointed that it’s a third straight year of failing to make the postseason? As we’ve seen, there are fans on both sides of the divide. There are also some interesting decisions to be made by the team, likely starting with what happens in regard to manager Torey Lovullo. How does all of this make you feel, as we draw a line under the 2026 campaign?
That’s what the poll below is for. And, of course, tell us in the comments why you feel that way, especially if your opinion has changed from last month. Here’s a link, for those on mobile.
