Allen is that guy who has all the talent and potential to earn a UFC title shot, which many expected “All-In” to do so early on in his career. Allen has come close during his sever-year Octagon tenure; however, he seemingly comes up just short when it matters most. In 2024, he was riding a seven-fight win streak before running into Nassourdine Imavov, who defeated him via unanimous decision. In his comeback fight, he fell short to Anthony Hernandez, sending Allen down the rankings ladder a few rungs further. Since then, however, he has bounced back nicely with three straight wins over formidable opposition in the form of Edmen Shahbazyan, Marvin Vettori and Reinier de Ridder, good enough to secure the No. 5 spot in UFC’s crowded 185-pound division. A win over Duncan may not be enough to leapfrog him over other fighters also on the hunt for a title shot, but it will certainly get him one step closer.
Speaking of Duncan, since dropping a unanimous decision to Gregory Rodrigues in 2024, he has quietly gone on a nice run, winning five straight with his most recent victory coming over Jared Cannonier. The British brawler is 8-2 overall under UFC’s banner, which is good enough to put him at No. 10 in the division. He has shown to have a well-rounded attack, but his 10 knockout wins illustrates that is where he prefers to earn his money. Allen loves himself a good fire-fight, too, so this could have the makings of a five-round war. For Duncan to get one over on Allen, he has to be near-perfect because “All-In” is well-equipped to get the job done … anywhere.
Original Card Vs. Actual Card/Injuries
A 205-pound fight between Felipe Franco vs. Alexander Poppeck was scheduled at this event before the latter pulled out for undisclosed reasons. He was ultimately replaced by Brendson Ribeiro, who is in desperate need of a win after losing his last four fights under UFC’s banner. As for Franco, he bounced back nicely with a win over Levi Rodrigues after losing to Mario Pinto in his Octagon debut.
New Blood:
No newcomers for this event!
How The ‘Prelims’ Look:
After starting his mixed martial arts (MMA) career with six straight knockout wins — four in the first round — Allen Frye Jr. dropped an egg in his UFC debut, losing to Guilherme Pat. He will look to avoid dropping back-to-back fights when he faces off against RJ Harris, who is undefeated (6-0) with a first round knockout win over Alvin Hines in his promotional debut.
Alice Pereira came up short in her UFC debut, losing to Montserrat Rendon via split decision. She brushed off that defeat and returned with a vengeance in her sophomore effort, destroying Hailey Cowan via knockout (see it here). Now, the Brazilian “Golden Girl” — who is just 20 years of age — will look to build off that momentum when she goes toe-to-toe against Darya Zheleznyakova, who has been rather inconsistent during her short run with the promotion, racking up a ho-hum 2-2 record.
Ernesta Kareckaite has alternated wins and losses during her three-fight run with UFC, so if the pattern holds, she will get her hand raised after tangling with Melissa Gatto, who is just 1-2 in her last four fights, putting her in a must-win situation to avoid the chopping block.
Who Needs A Win Badly:
A Lightweight bout between Francisco Prado vs. Ismael Bonfim could very well be a “Loser Leaves Town” match (especially after this). Bonfim is on a three-fight losing streak and has not won a fight in two years. As for Prado, he has lost four in a row and five of his last six fights under UFC’s banner. I fully expect the loser of this fight to get cut by the promotion.
We are loading up this week with fighters who desperately need a win because Niko Price has dropped four straight fights since 2024. His last win came way back in June 2024, right before his downfall began. The writing was already on the wall, but it would be nice to see Price ride off into the sunset with a proper UFC win. Leon Shabahzyan would love nothing more than to put the final nail the coffin of Price’s career, and pick up a huge win as well after losing in his UFC debut against Levan Chokheli.
Interest Level: 5.5/10
The aforementioned Camilo dropped his UFC debut to Gabriel Green, who submitted him back in mid-2025. Since then, the 25-year-old Brazilian standout has won two straight including his most recent knockout win over Nazim Sadykhov (see it here). Camilo has the potential to be a star in this promotion, but he has to be careful not to get too far ahead to avoid tripping over what’s in front of him. That’s because Herbert is far from a pushover despite just racking up 4-5-1 record. He has the tools, experience and hunger to pull off the upset; therefore, Camilo needs to have his head on a swivel to prevent getting it knocked off.
Loopy Godinez will attempt to bounce back following her tough loss at the hands of wrestling powerhouse, Tatiana Suarez, when she battles Ketlen Souza, who is hoping to lock down a ranking spot by taking out the No. 12-seeded fighter in the division. Souza has never won three straight inside the Octagon, so this will be a first for her. But, Godinez is as tough as they come — she is one of the most hard-nosed fighters in the women’s Strawweight division and is determined to not suffer the second back-to-back losing streak in her MMA career.
After 13 years with the promotion, Andre Fili is still chugging along, happily taking the gatekeeper role at 145 pounds. At this stage of his career, a title shot will likely never come. Nevertheless, he is still putting in the work to deliver decent performances. That said, he is just 1-3 in his last four outings so he needs a win if not for anything more than a boost of self confidence. He will battle former PFL and Bellator veteran, Kai Kamaka III, who is 1-1 in his second stint with the promotion. The long-time veteran brings it each and every fight, which is the reason I am expecting these two men to walk away with a post-fight bonus check.
Julius Walker is just 1-3 in his first four fights under UFC’s banner, making him yet another candidate who could get his pink slip with another defeat. It doesn’t help that he is coming off back-to-back knockout losses. He will look to right his ship when he battles Gerald Meerschaert, who is also fighting for his UFC life after losing his last five fights.
After storming out of the UFC gates with two first round knockout wins, fans and media alike were dubbing Malcolm Wellmaker the next big thing. Unfortunately for the 32-year-old former pipe fitter, he ran into a couple of walls on his way to potential superstardom, losing to Ethyn Ewing via unanimous decision and then getting submitted by Juan Diaz shortly after (see that again here). And just like that, the once-promising prospect is hoping to avoid a three-fight losing streak. Looking to give it to him is Otari Tanzilovi, who is coming off a loss to Shane Collins.
Enjoy the fights!
