Round 1: Jason Herzog the third man in the octagon for the main event.
Aspinall reaches out, but Gane with good athleticism to just back up out of the way. Gane with a right hand on the button. Left hand from the champ, Gane felt that one. Knee to the body from Aspinall. They are throwing heavy leather out there, someone could get dropped at any moment. Aspinall with a takedown and more good defense from Gane. This is getting interesting.
Gane jabbing away at the body and keeping his legs way back. Smart. Jab from Gane. He looks loose right now. Gane circling, keeping himself a moving target. Nice right from Aspinall. He scores with a leg kick. Punches up top by Aspinall. Gane lands a jab. That’s giving Aspinall problems. Aspinall spins to nowhere and both fighters have a laugh.
Aspinall with a bloody nose through most of this round. Glancing left by Aspinall. Gane with a finger right in Aspinall’s eye and we have a break in the action. Looked like a bad one.
Two minutes into break time and Aspinall is dabbing his eye with a small cloth. Herzog talking to both fighters. On commentary, Cormier says he heard Aspinall say he can’t see. Uh oh.
Herzog just said no-contest due to an untentional foul. Welp.
