It appears to be one step forward and one step back for the Pittsburgh Steelers in terms of injury news.
On Thursday, the team opened the activation window for safety DeShon Elliott, who began the season on IR. The Steelers will have 21 days to activate Elliott to the active roster. However, Pittsburgh will now be without another contributor for multiple games.
Wide receiver Michael Pittman was spotted in the locker room using a scooter to keep his inured foot elevated. Head coach Mike McCarthy says
the injury will keep Pittman out multiple weeks.
“It’s gonna be a multiple-week injury,” McCarthy said via Chris Adamski.
Pittman was acquired from the Indianapolis Colts in a trade that involved a Day Three pick swap. To say his first month as a Steeler was been underwhelming would be an understatement, as he has caught just seven passes for 89 yards.
