WWE will return to ESPN Unlimited in the United States — and Netflix everywhere else — tonight (Sat., May 9, 2026) with its first premium live event since WrestleMania 42! Backlash will feature a Men’s United States title rematch from April’s Showcase of the Immortals, and the WWE World Heavyweight champion defending against a family member with a Big Dog-sized chip on his shoulder. And those are just the title matches announced for Saturday evening’s show in Tampa, Florida!
And just like at ’Mania
last month, Backlash will be starting earlier than we’re used to.
The event will get rolling at 4 p.m. Eastern with the free Countdown show, which runs for two hours on WWE and ESPN’s online outlets, among other places. That leads right on into the premium live event at 6 p.m. Eastern, which will require an ESPN or Netflix subscription.
The first hour of the show will be available on ESPN2, so subscribers to the cable channel will get Trick Williams and Sami Zayn’s latest U.S. title bout, and the Bron Breakker/Seth Rollins grudge match — regardless of whether their cable or satellite provider has worked things out to get you ESPN Unlimited for no additional cost as ESPN & its parent company Disney have promised us all they eventually will.
Watch along with us! And whether you do that or not, you can follow all our Backlash coverage when the show starts in a few hours!
