Since joining Bayern Munich in 2023, Harry Kane has scored more goals (106) than any other player in Europe. His critics will claim that he is a penalty kick merchant, but the numbers tell a different tale. Only 25 of those goals were from the penalty spot.
In Bayern’s 3-2 DFL-Pokal win over SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Kane converted his 31st consecutive penalty kick to open the scoring line. In the 76th minute, Kane stepped up again to retake the lead but was stymied by Wehen goalkeeper, Florian Stritzel.
Check out the highlight here.
Harry Kane’s streak of 31 penalties converted across all official games for club and country, which ended against Wehen Wiesbaden, is the world’s longest run of this kind in the 21st century [IFFHS]
Kane’s streak of the century included penalty kick goals against Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, Italy, Netherlands, and many more. Kane will surely be disappointed to end his run but also thrilled to deliver the game-winning header in stoppage time to advance Bayern to the second round of the DFB-Pokal.
