We’re back today to get you caught up on the latest from Syracuse’s Olympic Sports as the spring sports calendar ramps up.
Rowing:
The Syracuse men lost both trophy races over the weekend as Dartmouth won the Packard Cup and Boston University took home the Conlan Cup, The Orange bounced back on Sunday to defeat Georgetown in all three races. Syracuse will now have time off before the Eastern Sprints in Worcester.
The #10 Orange women had a strong showing at the Wolverine Double Dual. Syracuse swept
all five races against Ohio State and then took three of five against Michigan. The Orange’s only defeats came in the 4s and now Syracuse waits for the ACC Championships to begin on May 15th.
Softball (18-23, 4-15):
Syracuse split a double-header against Buffalo early in the week. Over the weekend, the Orange were swept in a three-game series at Louisville. They are now two wins behind NC State for the final ACC Tournament spot. Madison Knight hit her team-leading 14th home run of the season.
Syracuse will host Virginia Tech next weekend.
Track and Field:
The Orange sent a few athletes to Ithaca last week to compete. Mia Hernanez won the women’s 200m dash and Ivana Richards took first in the women’s 400m hurdles.
Syracuse will compete at Princeton and Jacksonville next weekend as they approach the ACC Outdoor Championships in mid-May.
