The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.
The Chiefs will be without running back Isiah Pacheco, guard Hunter Nourzad, tight end Jared
Wiley, cornerback Joshua Williams and wide receiver Jalen Royals.
Pacheco had already been ruled out on this week’s injury report. The Chiefs did not elevate any players from the practice squad for the game — as they did with running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire for Pacheco’s absence in Week 9. This means that running back Elijah Mitchell will dress and make his debut for the Chiefs in Denver.
The status of cornerback Kristian Fulton had raised eyebrows after the highly paid free agent signing from the spring found himself a healthy scratch over the past few games. Fulton will play for the first time since suffering an injury in Week Two against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chiefs added tackle Jaylon Moore to the injury report on Sunday, declaring him questionable with an illness. Moore will play on Sunday. Per Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest, rookie Josh Simmons is expected to return to the lineup at left tackle after missing the past four games while addressing a personal situation.
The Broncos have also released their list of inactives, most of whom had already been declared out for the contest.
Denver will be without arguably the league’s best cornerback in Patrick Surtain II, who has a pectoral injujry. Starting middle linebacker Alex Singleton will also not be available as he deals with a frightening recent cancer diagnosis. Rotational pass rusher Jonah Elliss and reserve tight end Nate Atkins will also miss the game with injuries. Tackle Geron Christian, defensive tackle Jordan Jackson, and defensive end Sai’vion Jones will also not dress.
The Broncos had also declared running back J.K. Dobbins out on Friday with a foot injury sustained in Week 10. On Saturday, however, the veteran was placed on Denver’s reserve/injured list. Per multiple reports, he is now expected to miss the remainder of the season.
After placing Dobbins on IR and waiving wideout Trent Sherfield (who was also on the injury report with a toe injury), the Broncos activated linebacker Garrett Wallow from their reserve/injured list and signed cornerback Reese Taylor from their practice squad on Saturday. Taylor originally entered the league with the Chiefs in 2023 as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue.
The Broncos have elevated 41-year-old tight end Mercedes Lewis and linebacker Jordan Turner from the practice squad for the matchup. Both will dress for the game.
