What is the story about?
Illinois may never stop adding Balkan-born players to their roster.
Jonathan Givony is reporting that Illinois has earned a commitment from Croatian forward Toni Bilic. The 6’9, 20-year-old is arriving during the semester break and is eligible to play immediately.
Bilic was a member of Croatia’s FIBA U18 team in 2023 and was a part of their U20 team in 2024. He has played for Cedevita Junior since 2022.
Illinois now has six Balkan players on their roster. Tomislav Ivisic, Zvonimir Ivisic, and Toni Bilic all hail from Croatia. Andrej Stojakovic was born in Greece. David Mirkovic is from Montenegro. Mihailo Petrovic is Serbian.
