The NHL and the Bruins unveiled their jerseys for the 2026 Stadium Series game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and as you can see from the photo above, they are very, very gold.
The B’s will pair those gold jerseys with gold, white, and black socks to complete the look.
The B’s full set-up is reminiscent of their Lake Tahoe game jerseys, which looked very sharp on the outdoor ice.
From a press release from the team, the inspirations behind the jersey include:
- Sunshine Motif: In addition to the primary gold color, the jersey features debossed sun rays on the sleeves and on the hem loop label, which also features “BOS” – Boston’s airport code – a nod to the road warriors.
- Football-Inspired: The main “Boston” wordmark on the front of the jersey is akin to the New England Patriots styling, an intentional nod to the game being hosted in an NFL football stadium, and features a lock-up treatment with the Bruins’ crawling bear logo. The crawling bear – traditionally a secondary brand asset – is bigger and more prominent for the Stadium Series.
- Bear Claw Slash: One side shoulder features a new secondary mark, an iconic varsity B with a bear claw slash to signifying the grit and toughness that have been synonymous with Bruins hockey for more than 100 years. The slash graphic element appears throughout the uniform, including on the jersey, helmet, and pants.
- Love For New England: The inside neck collar features the abbreviations of the six New England states as a reminder that the Bruins are proud to represent their region no matter where they play.
Tampa went with a double-blue motif, a jersey
that doesn’t look as bad as original leaks portrayed.
If you click to enlarge some of those Tampa photos, there are a lot of nice details in the jersey: the pirate-themed skull on the shoulder and the arm bands, the lightning-filled sky in the numbers, etc.
“TBL” still strikes me as a weird choice for the crest, but whatever.
With both teams sporting full-color jerseys, this is going to be one vivid hockey game.
The Stadium Series game will be held at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on February 1.
Per the B’s, this jersey will be available for purchase at both the brick-and-mortar and online Pro Shops on Monday, December 15.
