According to The Guardian’s Tom Garry, Chelsea are ‘hoping’ to add USWNT winger, Alyssa Thompson before their transfer window closes next Thursday.
“The WSL champions are understood to have been aiming to add a world-class winger to their ranks and the USA international is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in the game. The 20-year-old has eight goal involvements in her 16 NWSL appearances so far this season.“
Alyssa Thompson was selected with the first overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft
to her hometown club, Angel City FC. Any move for the superstar would require a colossal transfer fee and will likely break the record.
But, Chelsea are reportedly, ‘ready’ to sign the superstar.
Could ACFC really make this move when they are only one point below the playoff line?
Alyssa Thompson also plays with her sister, Gisele Thompson at Angel City FC.
Chelsea kicks off their WSL season against Manchester City on September 5.
