Lennart Karl is without a doubt, one of the most talented wonderkids in football. Unfortunately, he missed a massive chance to put himself on the world’s biggest stage this summer after missing the World Cup with an injury. But while he missed that opportunity, it seems like he has taken the full advantage to showcase himself on the glorious Champions League nights.
As good as Karl has been in the Bundesliga, the young talent has recorded 4 goals and 3 assists in just 478 minutes in his Champions
League career thus far. Even more impressive, those contributions were all against respectable sides of Club Brugge, Arsenal, Sporting, PSV, Atalanta, and Bodø/Glimt.
It is certainly an impressive stat and it seems as though Lennart Karl is up for the challenge this season after coming back from his serious injury. While he is still coming back to full speed, it is only a matter of time before we see Karl back in full stride.
Karl accumulated 9 goals and 7 assists in just 1925 minutes played last season. Could he eclipse over 20 goal contributions this season? It is not out of the question, but certainly not an easy feat to achieve with all the different talent in the attack already. In comparison, Coman never accumulated more than 20 contributions in a season during his entire stay at Bayern Munich. If Karl can eclipse that at just 18 years old, fans are in for an absolute treat.
