For the first time since 2024, the Fightin Tigers of LSU have won an SEC game on the road as they went to Auburn and took down the Tigers 38-17 to improve to 6-2 at the bye week.
Sam Leavitt was electric, earning Offensive Player of the Week after going 32-of-45 for 387 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair to Jackson Harris for the second Saturday in a row.
LSU jumped out to a 17-3 lead early in the second quarter as Leavitt found TreyDez Green for his first touchdown since missing multiple weeks for an injury suffered against Ole Miss on September 19.
Jordan Ross led the defense with four tackles and two sacks, earning Defensive Lineman of the Week.
Contrary to the pro team in Louisiana, the Tigers scored on five of their first six possessions, running away from their opponent before finishing the job defensively in the second half.
Harris, the 2025 leader in yards per catch, has really come alive for LSU over the last two weeks as he is up to seven touchdowns over the last five games. He started the season with just three catches in the first three games.
“He just works really hard,” Lane Kiffin said of the Hawaii transfer. “We saw his speed and outran everybody in the SEC to get his play today. … It’s awesome to see.”
The Tigers now get the week to rest, recover, and prepare as they enter the month of November that holds a brutal schedule that gets underway with Alabama inside Death Valley on November 7 at 2:30 p.m.
