Kentucky Basketball has been busy when it comes to recruiting visits, and they’re hosting another surprise visitor this weekend in 4-star center Cherif Millogo.
According to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, Millogo has arrived in Lexington for an official visit. No one had reported the trip before, as Mark Pope and his staff kept it under wraps until Millogo made his way to Kentucky’s campus.
Pope and Millogo were spotted at Keeneland on Friday, so the visit is already well underway.
At 7-foot-5 and 250 pounds,
Millogo is a towering presence and one of the fastest-rising prospects in the class of 2027. He’s now up to No. 30 overall at Rivals, which also has him ranked No. 5 among centers.
Now in his senior season at St. Francis in La Canada Flintridge, California, Millogo is a native of Burkina Faso in West Africa. He currently holds scholarship offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, Kansas, Alabama, Texas, USC, Arizona, BYU, Washington, Nebraska, and TCU, among others.
Kentucky offered Millogo a scholarship this past summer and has been a top contender ever since. Getting him on campus only reinforces that belief, so it will be interesting to see how this recruitment looks once this weekend trip to Lexington concludes.
Pilgrim previously reported that Kentucky had “quietly positioned itself well” with Millogo, so it appears the Wildcats have a very real chance of winning this recruitment.
