United, City, Chelsea realize they have no shot with Pavlo (EPL Index)
Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea were all rumored to be interested in Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović, but the harsh reality for those clubs is that they have no chance to procure the 21-year-old:
Manchester United’s midfield rebuild has encountered a significant obstacle after Bayern Munich delivered a firm message regarding Aleksandar Pavlovic’s availability. According to reporting credited to TeamTalk, any ambitions from United, Chelsea, or Manchester City to secure
the highly rated midfielder this summer have been decisively shut down.
Pavlovic, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most promising defensive midfielders, has drawn attention across the continent. Interest from Premier League heavyweights has been persistent, with “detailed checks” and “close tabs” maintained over recent months. However, the response from Bayern has been unequivocal.
As reported, “enquiries have been made with Pavlovic’s camp in recent months, but all interested parties have received the same clear message, his situation remains unchanged, and he is not available for transfer.” This clarity removes any lingering uncertainty for clubs hoping to test Bayern’s resolve.
Surely, Pavlović will continue to be a coveted player on the transfer market, but there is no indication at this point that he is anywhere near ready to consider a move. Pavlović’s current contract runs through 2029. We would expect Bayern Munich to get out in front of this with an extension in 2027.
City could complicate Eichhorn race (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
While Manchester City will miss on Aleksandar Pavlović, Pep Guardiola’s club could make a strong play for Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn. Eichhorn is the one player who Bayern Munich would consider going after in the central midfield this summer per reports:
✅ It is TRUE: Manchester City have entered the race for Kennet Eichhorn. This information came from Fabrizio Romano and I can confirm it; Manchester City are concretely interested. There has been some contact in Germany where they’ve made it clear they want to talk about this player. As we’ve previously reported, Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in Eichhorn. So, you see, he’s a very big talent. The midfielder is just 16 years old and playing in the Bundesliga 2. But Bayern Munich also want this player. Normally, they would be happy to see him stay and improve at Hertha Berlin. However, they also know that if a Premier League club succeeds in bringing him to England, it can be really hard to bring these talents back to Germany.
Normally, they wouldn’t do anything in this position, as they have players like Noël Aséko (20), who they’re bringing back from his loan spell at Hannover. Frankfurt are interested in Eichhorn also, but Bayern Munich would give him the chance this summer and see how it works. In the end, FC Bayern would rather move for the player now as opposed to losing him to the Premier League.
Tah touts Kompany (@iMiaSanMia)
Add Jonathan Tah to list of folks ecstatic to see Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany recently re-up with the club.
“We were all delighted about the contract extension – the team is very happy about it, the whole club is very happy about it,” said Tah. “We didn’t make a big deal out of it [the contract extension]; he only talked about the next opponent in the meeting. He brings a sense of calm and a focus on the basics, on football. That’s our job, that’s definitely what makes him special.”
Suitors lining up for Lewy (Mundo Deportivo via ESPN)
Amid a lot of interest in former Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, FC Barcelona might be eager to ink the Polish Hitman to a new deal:
Barcelona have offered a new deal to Robert Lewandowski, with the striker set to choose between that and offers from AC Milan, Juventus, Chicago Fire and the Saudi Pro League.
Lewandowski is in the twilight of his career, but it would be great to see him end everything on his own terms and playing where he wants to be.
Bayern still interested in Kofane despite reports (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Despite reports to the contrary, Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk says that Bayern Munich does have at least some interest in Bayern Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane:
✅ It is TRUE: There is interest in Christian Kofane and he’s on the list. Christoph Freund, the sporting director, was asked about this topic and he didn’t deny it. That said, Bayern aren’t searching intensely in this particular position. There are still rumours about Fisnik Asllani of Hoffenheim, who’s also on this list. In the end, Bayern want a left-winger, they want to buy a right-back, and in the end, if there’s money left (although Bayern would then have to sell players to get some money in), then there would be a chance for such players. Of course, if Arsenal’s at the table, it’s getting hard!
