The SEC has announced its 2025-26 preseason media honors and predicted order of finish. The Kentucky Wildcats were picked to finish second in the league, while the defending national champion Florida Gators were picked to win the league.
Senior guard Otega Oweh was named the Preseason SEC Player of the Year, while junior guard Jaland Lowe earned Third-Team All-SEC honors.
As a junior transfer from Oklahoma last season, Oweh led the Cats in scoring at 16.2 points per game after hitting double figures
in each of the first 26 games and 33 overall, earning Second-Team All-SEC honors.
Lowe, a junior point guard, comes to Kentucky after being an All-ACC Third-Team pick as a sophomore last season with the Pittsburgh Panthers. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game, making him one of just eight players in the country with at least 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.
