The New England Patriots put a bow on their 2026 training camp on Tuesday, holding their final full practice before the preseason finale and subsequent roster cutdown deadline. The session itself was a relatively light one despite players donning full pads.

Standout of the day
K Andy Borregales: The Patriots’ second-year kicker ended training camp on a high note. Working
exclusively with the skinny goal posts, which offer less room for error than the regular-sized ones, he started his day by making five field goals from varying distances early during the session. He then ended his strong practice, and training camp overall, by capping off an end-of-game simulation.
Drake Maye and the offense were tasked by head coach Mike Vrabel with driving into field goal range with just 20 seconds on the clock. The unit left the field with a 54-yard field goal waiting to be made, and Borregales was spot on yet again — something that had been the case throughout the summer, with the exception of a preseason opener against the Colts that saw him uncharacteristically miss three field goal attempts to the left. However, it seems that those misses, which came while working with a new long snapper, were merely a blip on the radar.
Other performances of note
RB Lan Larison and RB Hassan Haskins: TreVeyon Henderson slipped during Monday’s practice, exited the session, and was unable to take the field on Tuesday for undisclosed reasons. This opened the door for somebody else to step into the RB2 role, and it was a mixture of Haskins and Larison. Both spent time with Drake Maye and the starting offense, and caught two passes each in team drills. The only noteworthy difference was Larison being in a red non-contact jersey, which might be a bad sign for his availability for the preseason finale, and Haskins being used as a kickoff return option.
WR Kyle Williams: Speaking of kickoff returners, Kyle Williams was part of that particular mix as well on Tuesday. In addition, he saw an increased workload with Drake Maye — a byproduct of fellow wideout Kayshon Boutte getting traded to the Houston Texans the previous day. It is clear that he will be on the team this fall, and that the club will be trying to find touches for the speedster.
ED Quintayvious Hutchins: Even though he is still “only” working with the second-string defense, Hutchins continues to leave his mark on the field. The top backup option along the edge opposite Gabe Jacas, the seventh-round draft pick continues to be disruptive. On Tuesday, he found himself in the backfield at one point as a result of a well-executed stunt — another positive play for a player who has started building some momentum.
The Patriots will hold a walkthrough behind closed doors on Wednesday morning before making the trip to Cleveland for their preseason finale. The game against the Browns is scheduled to be kicked off at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 27.
