The Colorado Avalanche and KSE will clean up the house a bit, with plans for a $135 million renovation announced via the team’s X account and NHL.com!
Rendered images show a portion of Ball Arena’s exterior getting a facelift,
the concourse sporting a wooden aesthetic and upgrade, and an overview of a large portion of the proposed development.
“The arena will serve as the beating heart of KSE’s redevelopment of its 55-acre property into a district expected to include a hotel, a mid-size entertainment venue, a central park, shopping, dining, and residential and office towers,” according to an NHL.com article about the renovation.
The article does not mention a possible upgrade to Avalanche training facilities, but we will keep an eye out for that.
This appears to be a fan-focused upgrade that will also add amenities and suite-level seating, expand congested areas, add new escalators, and include a new team shop.
The completion date is expected to precede the start of the 2028-29 season, meaning Avalanche fans could enjoy the spoils of this renovation two seasons from now.
