It’s still only June. So we shouldn’t get carried away with the hype.
But the Dexter Lawrence trade and other solid moves have a lot of people feeling good about the Cincinnati Bengals.
The latest person to voice their positivity about the team is none other than NFL insider Adam Schefter.
On “Get Up”, Schefter noted how a talented offense will make things even easier for a revamped defense. “If Joe Burrow’s healthy, they’re probably going to be playing with a lead a lot of the time,” he said. “And
if they’re playing with a lead, it takes a lot of pressure off what should be a much-improved defense.”
The insider then reminded viewers just how good this team was a few years ago and how they could be even better now.
“Joe Burrow himself has said that this is the best roster that he’s played with in Cincinnati, and if we go back and look, the Bengals did go to a Super Bowl before and nearly won it in Los Angeles with Joe Burrow playing,” Schefter said.
Finally, Schefter pointed out how much the lineup of opponents favors Cincinnati.
“And also, let’s remember this: their schedule is about as easy as any schedule in the league,” he said. “It is set up for the Bengals to have a big year and to be a dangerous team.“
