Well, that was fun.
A 68-0 blowout of an overmatched opponent probably shouldn’t be a milestone for a Big Ten football program, but it kind of felt like one. We haven’t seen the Huskers take care of business like that for a while. Most of the time, they would have let opponents like the Zips hang around for far too long and caused angst for Husker fans in the fourth quarter.
Also, the #2 (FCS) Jackrabbits notched a big win vs #3 Montana State on the Bearcats home field. It was a double overtime thriller
with the good guys emerging victorious.
I get the impression Iowa fans wouldn’t mind giving Mark Gronowski back to the Jackrabbits after two weeks of questionable quarterbacking from the two-time FCS national champ. I was worried when Gronowski announced he was going to Iowa – it didn’t seem like the place to go for a quarterback that wanted to burnish his resume to get selected in the NFL draft.
Unfortunately, it appears I was right.
