The overarching story is Kerry Morton breaking away as a heel from his Southern Six teammates, world champion Thrillbilly Silas Mason and Alex Taylor. This chapter saw Ricky challenge Taylor to Texas Death. Of course, Kerry lent a helping hand throughout the fight.

Whenever Taylor sparked momentum, Kerry quickly interfered to help his father. One such example allowed Ricky to toss Taylor off the turnbuckles onto a pile of tacks. That was the biggest spot of the match.
Taylor would have the last laugh to kick Kerry in the junk, spit tacks in Ricky’s face, and hit his finisher to Ricky landing on the tacks. Taylor took home the win.
This was more of a novelty match than rugged Texas Death, which is to be expected given Ricky’s age. There was no blood or dangerous bumps. If the legend can still get to the ring doing what he loves, more power to him.
