Britt Baker hasn’t wrestled for AEW since November 2024, and many fans have been very vocal about wanting to see the return of the former women’s world champion.
What’s added to fan frustration is AEW has not offered any official explanation for her absence. AEW president/CEO Tony Khan has thus far only given oblique statements about anticipating Baker back at some unknown point when he’s asked about her.
For her part, Baker hasn’t divulged too much information on the subject, though she has made it
clear that she wants to be back.
This week, she posted an image on social media of herself catching a sunset at the beach.
“Wish you would return at Wembley,” a fan wrote in the comments of Britt’s X post, referencing the London stadium that will host August 30’s All In event.
“Same,” she replied.
Earlier this month, another person on X asked Baker where she’s been, and she answered by writing: “At the beach.”
As she noted, the wrestler/dentist has been spending some time by the ocean, judging by her social media posts. Baker has also looked like she’s not been skipping any time at the gym.
But these short answers are not the only times Britt has interacted on social media with fans who are clamoring to have her back on television. She even gave a lightly longer response in March when a person tagged her in an X post to inquire why she hadn’t returned at the recent AEW Revolution.
“Not up to me,” she responded.
No matter the reason for her prolonged absence, Khan has made it clear Baker’s still under contract to AEW, and he has said he wants her back. Khan has a couple of prime opportunities to bring her back in the coming weeks.
The September 9th episode Dynamite will be dedicated to Rebel (Tanea Brooks), a close friend of Baker who is battling ALS. A couple of weeks later, Dynamite will take place in Britt’s hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As of right now, Baker is not advertised for these events, but TK could use either one to deliver the surprise return many AEW fans have been longing for, or maybe he’s keeping a secret about this weekend’s All In…
What do you think, Cagesiders? Will Britt return at All In? Will be see her in September, or do you think she’ll eventually turn up in WWE before appearing on AEW TV again? Let us know in the comments.
