The Indianapolis Colts are “more likely than not” to trade star running back Jonathan Taylor, according to an update from NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The New York Giants are known to be one of the teams that has inquired about Taylor. Per Schultz, the Minnesota Vikings Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals, and Green Bay Packers are also in the mix.
Taylor traveled with the Colts this weekend as they are on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. If the Colts are serious about trading the 27-year-old, playing him would be a calculated risk.
The Giants like their backfield of Cam Skattebo, Tryone Tracy (on IR with a hamstring injury), Devin Singletary and Gregory Desrosiers. It has been clear since the offseason, though, that Harbaugh would love to have a top-tier bellcow back.
The Giants were interested in Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker in free agency, and No. 3 overall pick Jeremiyah Love in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Colts are said to be using the Carolina Panthers 2022 trade of Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers as a model. In that trade, the Panthers received, 2023 second-, third-, and fourth-round picks, and a 2024w fifth-round selection.
