Nobody loves watching film quite as much as Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti.
Cignetti was one of multiple interviews completed by ESPN broadcaster Rece Davis this offseason, who also spent time with Miami’s Mario Cristobal and Texas Tech’s Joey Maguire. Davis structures these interviews by meeting subjects where they’re comfortable doing what they love. For Cristobal, that was lunch at a local Cuban restaurant in Miami. For Maguire, it was the corvette he drives around Lubbock after every
Red Raider win.
Davis met Cignetti, where else, in his Memorial Stadium office grinding away at tape.
“This is my thing,” a smiling Cignetti said to open the interview.
Davis and Cignetti went through a variety of topics in the latter’s office including watching tape (well, duh), scouting transfer portal prospects, Fernando Mendoza’s work ethic and preparation, Indiana’s fanbase and turnout and his philosophy as a head coach.
