The Las Vegas Raiders are now preparing to play at the Washington Commanders on a short week and a trip in Week 3. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. PT Sunday:
Let’s take a quick look at the Commanders:
Record:
The Commanders are 1-1. They lost 27-18 at the Green Bay Packers on Thursday. Thus, this is a pretty big rest advantage for the Commanders.
Good friends:
The Commanders are coached by Dan Quinn, who was Raiders’ coach Pete Carroll’s defensive coordinator with the Seattle Seahawks. They won a Super Bowl together
and remain close. This will be an emotional matchup for both coaches.
First meeting with Daniels:
Second-year star quarterback Jayden Daniels will face the Raiders for the first time. The previous Raiders’ regime badly wanted Daniels in the 2024 draft, but never had a chance to grab him.
Last meeting:
Washington beat the Raiders 17-15 in Las Vegas on December 5, 2021. Washington has a four-game winning streak over the Raiders dating back to 2009. It’s been 20 years since the Raiders have won against Washington.
