The fifth Sunday of the 2025 NFL regular season is here!
Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 5 games.
EAGLES GAME
DENVER BRONCOS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles
will be 5-0 with a win. Go Birds.
NFC EAST
NEW YORK GIANTS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Eagles play the Giants in Week 6 (and again in Week 8). Guessing the Birds would not like to see the G-Men enter next weekend’s game on a two-game winning streak. Best not for them to build some confidence with Jaxson Dart as their starting quarterback. Root for the Saints.
DALLAS COWBOYS at NEW YORK JETS: The 4-0 Eagles already have a nice lead on the 1-2-1 Cowboys but might as well root for it to expand. (The silver lining to a Jets loss is that it helps the Eagles from a draft pick standpoint. Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds.) Root for the Jets.
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: The 2-2 Commanders are currently second in the division. The Eagles would love to increase or at least maintain the gap between them and Washington. Root for the Chargers.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS beat LOS ANGELES RAMS: The result of Week 5’s Thursday night game was arguably good for the Eagles. The Rams seem more threatening than the Niners. Also worth noting here that Bryce Huff is up to three sacks, putting him five shy of elevating the 2026 draft pick the Eagles will receive from the 49ers from a fifth-rounder to a fourth-rounder.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: The Vikings winning the NFC North instead of the Lions would be preferable. Root for the Vikings.
MIAMI DOLPHINS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: The Panthers probably aren’t winning their division but you can root for it to happen. Would be better than the Bucs winning the NFC South. Root for the Panthers.
TENNESSEE TITANS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: The Cards winning the NFC West would be preferable. Better them than any other team in that division. Root for the Cardinals.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: The Eagles finally beat the Bucs last week but are you feeling great if the Birds have to see that team again in the playoffs? Root for the Seahawks.
DETROIT LIONS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Lions are a threat to the Eagles getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Root for the Bengals.
WHAT’S LEFT
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at BUFFALO BILLS: Two reasons for the Eagles to root for the Bills. 1) The Eagles want to see a non-Jets team win the AFC East and Buffalo could be in a position to run away with their division. 2) The Bills winning work to improve the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker, assuming the Birds are able to beat Josh Allen in Buffalo later this season. Root for the Bills.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: The Raiders winning work to improve the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker, assuming the Birds are able to beat Chip Kelly in Philly later this season. Root for the Raiders.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: Having already defeated the Chiefs, the Eagles’ strength of victory tiebreaker will improve with each KC win. Root for the Chiefs.
HOUSTON TEXANS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: No Eagles impact.
