Heading into their match at the PPV tonight (Oct. 17), wrestling prodigy Nick Wayne and wrestling legend Chris Jericho had beaten each other one time a piece in singles action. Both men used a low blow to ensure their victory.
The Orlando crowd got an expanded version of their earlier two matches at WrestleDream. For most of its longer runtime, match three seemed headed toward Jericho winning because Wayne was too cocky about beating Jericho in their last outing.
Hubris set-up Jericho’s big reveal that he wore a cup to thwart a low blow this time…
Jericho proceeded to punch Nick in the head with the plastic he pulled out of his pants before delivering the low blow. That cost him though, as Wayne collapsed before Judas Effect could connect. A roll-up allowed Wayne to get another win over AEW’s first-ever World champ, something he told us about again right after it happened.
Sounds a little like his old Patriarch.
How do you think this program is working out for young master Wayne? For old man Jericho? Sound off below.
