Barcelona’s next La Liga match against Valencia is just over a week away but we still don’t know where it will be played.
The match will be Barca’s first home game of the new campaign and it had been hoped it would be held at the Camp Nou. The only problem is that Barca still don’t have approval to return to their famous old stadium yet.
According to Mundo Deportivo, they could end up playing the game at Estadi Johan Cruyff if needed as La Liga have given the option the green light.
The ground only
has a capacity of 6,000, which is below La Liga’s required limited of 8,000, but an exception will be made in the circumstances.
Barcelona will have to make some changes to that ground if they are to hold the match there on September 14th.
The report details how La Liga has a number of requirements, most notably the installation of a fibre option connection and cameras so that VAR can be used.
Barcelona are still hoping to play the game at Camp Nou, but it seems the option of playing at the Estadi Johan Cruyff is currently gaining ground.
