Marcus Rashford’s future at Barcelona appears to be growing more complicated amid conflicting speculation about the buy option in his loan deal with the Catalan giants.
Cadena SER reported earlier today that Rashford’s €30 million purchase option expired at the end of March and is no longer valid.
More updates have now followed which claim that is not the case. Diario Sport say Rashford’s entourage are denying this information and claim the clause is still valid for a while longer.
Another update from
ESPN states that the purchase option is valid until June 15th. The report adds that Barca can also pay the clause in three installments if they do trigger the option.
If they do decide to splash out on Rashford, then Barcelona will pay an installment of €10m in July 2026, 2027 and then 2028.
ESPN say that Barcelona’s entourage have made contact with Barca again recently to try and find out their plans ahead of the summer transfer window.
Barcelona are thought to favor another loan over a permanent deal, but it’s believed that Manchester United want a straight sale this summer.
