Recent reports said that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez was looking to make a record breaking bid if he was reelected. He initially blatantly denied that Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise was the target of that bid, but soon afterward a report came out that he may indeed be the star on their radar.
We now have information from Fabrizio Romano (captured by @iMiaSanMia) that Pérez reportedly fell in love with Michael Olise during the intense Champions League quarterfinal clash between Bayern Munich
and Real Madrid. According to him, the Madrid chief believes the winger would be a perfect fit for José Mourinho’s current system and is planning to see how the German giants respond to a massive €150 million bid on Tuesday.
Despite the looming mega offer from Spain, Bayern Munich have always maintained that Olise is strictly untouchable. Pérez, though, is clearly willing to shatter records to hand Mourinho a primary target, viewing Olise as the ideal profile to elevate Madrid’s transition play. However, Bayern’s firm stance reflects how vital the young attacker is to their own long term project. Turning down a €150 million sum would be a massive statement of intent, showing that the Bavarian hierarchy values squad stability and elite talent far more than a pure financial windfall at this stage of their development.
Should Bayern Munich consider selling Olise if a historic €150 million offer actually arrives? Let us know in the comments!
