Jadarian Price is back.
After the Seattle Seahawks opened the 21-day practice window for their first-round pick on Thursday, they activated him to the 53-man roster on Monday, ahead of the team’s prime-time clash with the Chicago Bears. Undrafted rookie Robert Henry Jr was waived to make room for Price.
Price has been out with a chest injury since Week 4, after he initially suffered the injury during the team’s Week 2 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Prior to being placed on injured reserve, the rookie
had rushed for 119 yards on 28 carries across three games, adding four catches for 21 yards through the air. He had struggled with ball security and found himself in a greatly reduced role during Seattle’s Week 3 loss to the Washington Commanders after fumbling for a second straight game.
The former Notre Dame tailback returns to a different looking running back room — and running game. Zach Charbonnet, who was on the PUP list when Price last suited up, is back on the 53-man roster and primed to make a return of his own tonight after completing his recovery from a torn ACL. Up front, the Seahawks’ offensive line has received a boost in the form of the pre-trade deadline acquisition of six-time All-Pro Quenton Nelson.
Now Price, along with Charbonnet, can try to provide a boost to a running game that has struggled in its time led by Emanuel Wilson and George Holani, as Seattle looks to rediscover balance on offense in its first season under new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury.
