Robert Lewandowski is jetting out to the United States and could be set to sign for MLS side Chicago Fire
.The striker is a free agent this summer after leaving Barcelona and has been linked with a move to Chicago throughout the 2025-26 season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Lewandowski is heading for talks with the club and has been offered a 2-3 year contract.
Polish reporter Tomasz Włodarczyk says that Lewy is “seriously considering” the move but hasn’t made a final decision just yet.
Chicago Fire coach Gregg Berhalter has previously admitted that Lewandowski is a player the club want to sign.
“First of all, I don’t think there aren’t other offers. I find it hard to believe it. I’m sure a player of his caliber should have offers. As for our communication, we have had a lot. Both with him and with his entourage,” he told Przegląd Sportowy Onet.
”I can speak frankly because he is no longer a Barcelona player, or he will not be next week. He’s someone we want to sign. We believe that both the Polish community and the entire Chicago community support this transfer. We believe he is a fantastic signing for the club, the city and the league.”
Lewandowski had also been linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia and Italy but may well now decide to continue his career in the United States.
