Here we go. Do or die for Toronto as they’re down 3 games to 2 in this best-of-seven series. The Blue Jays need to win tonight against Seattle if they want to stay alive one more day and force an epic Game 7. And now they’ll be back home with their fans behind them.
The Blue Jays will send right-handed rookie Trey Yesavage to the mound for this do-or-die game. Sending a rookie to the mound in a winner-take-all game is one thing. Sending out a player with just three regular season starts and two postseason
starts? Unheard of and uncharted territory. Let’s see how it works out for the Jays.
The Blue Jays’ lineup for this must-win Game 6:
Notably, DH George Springer is back in the lineup after exiting Game 5 after fouling a ball off his leg. He’s one of their best hitters so having him in there tonight is critical for their chances.
The M’s are just one win away from going to their first-ever World Series, the last team in all of baseball to get a ticket to the Fall Classic. Tonight they’ll have the chance of a lifetime and they’ll be sending young prized righty Logan Gilbert to the mound hoping he can send his squad to the Championship. Gilbert has had a strange October: in three starts he’s allowed just three runs, but his last two starts lasted just two and three innings, respectively. He likely won’t have a long leash again tonight as the Mariners don’t want to fall behind early.
The Mariners’ lineup tonight shakes out like this:
Which team has more pressure on them tonight? Do the M’s finish the Jays off and set the World Series matchup? Whoever wins has a tough date with the Dodgers up next but we got at least one more night of American League baseball left!
