Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has offered an update on Gavi after chatting with the Barcelona midfielder about his current knee injury.
Gavi has been sidelined with the problem and is not expected back for a few weeks. He missed the draw with Rayo and withdrew from the latest Spain squad due to the injury which is causing concern.
Here’s what De la Fuente has had to say:
“I spoke this morning with Gavi: he sad and awaiting a possible meniscus surgery,” he told El Larguero.
“He is a very strong… I encouraged
him because these are the situations where one comes out stronger.”
Recent speculation has claimed that Gavi will not go under the knife just yet, and that Barcelona will continue with conservative treatment for the time being in the hope that he responds.
It’s also been reported that if Gavi does have another operation, he will miss around a month of action for Barcelona.
