The Cleveland Browns head coaching search marches on as the second round of the NFL playoffs gets underway. The team has already interviewed seven for their vacant position and has reportedly put out requests
for three other candidates. Until Monday, the four remaining coaches are not able to be interviewed in person by any team. After that, the NFL rules lighten slightly.
With John Harbaugh reportedly heading to the New York Giants (despite no official announcement or contract signed), the Browns can now focus their approach on the others on their list. The last four known candidates on Cleveland’s list are:
- Chargers DC Jesse Minter
- Jaguars OC Grant Udinski
- Rams DC Chris Shula
- Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase
Minter is scheduled to talk to the Browns on Friday:
Scheelhaase will also interview with Cleveland on Friday:
Udinski is currently set for the lone Saturday interview:
Of note, Shula does not currently have an interview scheduled with the Browns, but is meeting with three teams on Friday:
Depending on the results of the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, Cleveland’s brass will be able to start in-person interviews on Monday with many of their top candidates, with a potential resolution coming the following week.
