What is the story about?

The Dallas Cowboys, for just a moment, looked like they had righted their season after beating the Philadelphia Eagles and were on their way to taking out the Arizona Cardinals. You probably don’t need me to tell you how that turned out.

In similar fashion,I got crushed on my three bold takes for last week’s game. I vow to bounce back this week, just like the Cowboys will hopefully do.

The Cowboys are on the road for this week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, and are 5.5-point favorites, according

to our friends at FanDuel. The over/under is 51.5 points. The Cowboys being favored is more an indictment of the Colts than anything else.

On to the bold predictions for the Cowboys versus Colts.

Colts QBs run for 75+ yards

The headline says Colts QBs for two reasons. One is Daniel Jones, and his backup Anthony Richardson, have wheels, and it feels likely the Colts may try to pull a “Cardinals switcheroo” on the Cowboys if Jones gets off to a rough start. So both Jones and Richardson could get reps in the game.

Secondly, the Cowboys defense is never able to contain mobile quarterbacks. It’s just not in their DNA. So Jones alone, or maybe in combination with Richardson, will go for over 75 yards on the ground.

George Pickens gets a 40+ yards TD

There is no real scheme-related thing for this bold prediction. Just a feeling. Cowboys fandom is frustrated with how Brian Schottenheiemer is using Pickens. The receiver himself is likely getting frustrated at the lack of action. Trade rumors have been attached to his name.

That’s a lot of noise. To quiet it all down, the Cowboys will feature Pickens more, and one of those targets will pay off big with a 40+ yard touchdown.

Daron Bland gets an interception

Everybody is down on DaRon Bland. The ballhawk CB from years ago has disappeared. Even his coach, Christian Parker, has come out and said the team needs more from Bland.

In this game, Bland gets himself a little redemption by picking off a pass. If we were really bold, we’d say he not only picks it off, but takes it to the house for a pick-six, just like the old days.
