The Deacs have their first addition of the offseason in VT transfer Antonio Dorn.
For their first portal acquisition of the offseason, the Deacs are going big, filling the obvious hole at center that they had this season. Dorn
is a 7-0, 230 pound center from Hamburg, Germany who averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9 minutes per game for the Hokies. The numbers may not jump off the stat sheet, but Wake will once again have a 7-footer down low who should be able to defend the rim and rebound—two things the Deacs did not do at all this year.
Dorn has a ton of potential, and with more minutes he should be able to have a lot more production next season. Coincidentally, he had his best game of the season against Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament, finishing with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. He finished the season shooting 64% from the field, however, he only took 42 total shots during the season, all 2-pointers. Based on his highlights below, he knows how to use his size and has great touch around the basket for a big guy. He also appears to be very mobile for a center. At the very least, the Deacs will once against have a 7-footer in the paint, and that is great news.
