The Indianapolis Colts are at home to take on the Dallas Cowboys for week 9 of the 2026 season, kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. EST.
The Indianapolis Colts fire sale has not been extinguished, but what once seemed like a blaze is down to just a few smoldering embers. Most of us expected at least one or two trades this week after the previous week saw both DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson find new homes. Instead what we got were rumors and more questions.
As it stands it seems like we will see Jonathan Taylor,
Daniel Jones, Josh Downs, Grover Stewart, et. al, go all out for the Colts this weekend, possibly for the last time. It will be telling if anyone is seemingly a healthy scratch this week that normally never would be, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Side Note: I told you about this last week but I’m probably going to keep reminding you each week because I think it’s important for everyone who enjoys these gameday threads. The Dallas Cowboys present an interesting matchup for our Colts. I fully expect Dak Prescott to have his way with this Indy defense. George Pickens might end up having a big day from the slot and every running back in the NFL should be excited to get a crack at this Colts front seven, based on what we’ve seen so far. I expect the Cowboys to score early and often in this one.
Offensively, if the Colts are going to have any success moving the ball and scoring points this season, today presents their best opportunity. This Cowboys defense is, somehow, worse than the Colts. And if Indy is looking to move any of it’s offensive pieces, this might be the best pre-deadline showcase they could have asked for. Daniel Jones might find some open receivers, Jonathan Taylor might have a vintage performance. The Colts will likely still lose, but this game, unlike most others this season, has a chance to be exciting to watch.
Prediction:
Cowboys: 38
Colts: 28
As always, go Colts.
