Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
Defensive Plus-Minus 2025: Eagles Shine at Preventing Completions – FTN Fantasy Eagles lead in defensive plus-minus for 2025 showing strong secondary impact: Plus-minus favors Philly as the top team, with standout corner and safety groups contributing to low completions above expected. […] But back to the Eagles for a moment. They’re the first team to go back-to-back leading the league in plus-minus since the Jets did it in 2009-10 – the very middle
of the Revis Island era. The Eagles don’t have anyone quite at that level, but Quinyon Mitchell ranked 11th among corners, Cooper DeJean ranked fifth among nickelbacks and Andrew Mukuba ranked 15th among safeties in DVOA. They join the Seahawks, Broncos and Chargers as the only teams with at least one person in the top 15 in all three groups – and hey, wouldn’t you know it, that’s our top four teams in plus-minus, who would have thought. For the Eagles, it’s even a little more impressive considering that Adoree’ Jackson was a liability in coverage in his first year in Philadelphia – replacing him with Riq Woolen for 2026 should, in theory, make them even better. I wouldn’t bet on them threepeating in 2026, simply because no one’s ever done that and there is a lot of volatility in this stat. But would you bet against them?
Jalen Hurts leads Eagles teammates in offseason training and bonding trip – BGN
This isn’t the first offseason that Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has worked with his teammates to build chemistry and rapport ahead of training camp. This is, however, the most extensive look we’ve had of Hurts and most of the skill players spending time together both on and off the field. The group was in Orlando for the weekend, and got a workout in at UCF.
Things to watch for at Eagles training camp: Edge defender edition – PhillyVoice
As you can see, he had a down year in 2025 after two great seasons. Greenard played on a good Vikings defense, but he didn’t play alongside the caliber of players the Eagles employ along the interior of their defensive line. He should get more than his share of one-on-one matchups this season. In the past we have seen newcomers like Bryce Huff get absolutely dominated in camp by Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata. It’ll be interesting to see if Greenard can win his share of reps against the Eagles’ elite offensive tackle tandem in camp.
Avoiding Extremes – Iggles Blitz
Nick Sirianni likes to talk about not wanting to do something too much or too little when it comes to play-calling trends and habits. He uses the quote that “A wise man avoids extremes.” Sirianni doesn’t always take his own advice. For example, we know the Eagles overused hitch routes last season. That’s a perfectly good part of the offense, but it shouldn’t be something you do over and over. Not ideal. Kevin Patullo might have been running the offense, but Sirianni is the head coach and has an offensive background. He should have stepped in to address this at some point. Hopefully this will be solved by the change at offensive coordinator.
Eagles 2026 most important list: Jordan Davis – NBCSP
It took a while but Jordan Davis finally lived up to his potential in 2025. The former first-round pick had a breakout season in Year 4 and earned a massive contract extension this offseason. Davis signed a three-year, $78 million extension with the Eagles in March after earning it in 2025. Last season, Davis started all 17 games. He had career highs in tackles (72), sacks (4 1/2), TFLs (9), QB hits (6) and batted passes (6). Davis began to get in better shape during the 2024 season and carried that through to 2025. He was still a great run-stuffing nose guard but last season began to show that he’s more than that. After signing that massive contract in March, Davis talked a bit about his journey. “That’s something that I don’t really stop to think about because you’re still in the midst of it all,” Davis said. “Fletch (former Eagles DT Fletcher Cox) told me that they are keeping you for not what you’ve done, but for what you can do, what you are expected to do.

Continuity vs. turnover on NFC East rosters and why it matters – Blogging The Boys
Somewhat surprisingly, the Cowboys return the most snaps in the East with 74%, even it’s by the slimmest of margins versus the Eagles at 73%. And that’s because of the continuity on offense, where the Cowboys are returning 92% of their snaps, by far the highest value of any unit across the NFC East. And the Cowboys have more continuity than just with their roster. The entire offensive coaching staff remains in place for at least their second season in Dallas. Meanwhile, the Eagles revamped their entire offensive coaching staff, the Giants brought in a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator, and a slew of new offensive assistant coaches, and the Commanders also have a new OC, though he was promoted internally, and while he brought in new QB and TE coaches, most of the offensive staff remains unchanged. Will the Cowboys’ offensive continuity guarantee an even better offense in 2026? Maybe, maybe not.
Washington Commanders to sign veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas – Hogs Haven
The depth in the secondary for the Washington Commanders has been a talking point all offseason and it is finally being addressed by GM Adam Peters. Per Adam Schefter, free agent Rasul Douglas is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders.
Can John Harbaugh’s training camp get NY Giants off to a good start? – Big Blue View
Going all the way back to the final years of the Tom Coughlin era, the beginnings of NFL seasons have not been kind to the New York Giants. Only twice since 2013 have the Giants gotten off to 2-0 starts. Not coincidentally, those were the only times in those 13 seasons that the team reached the playoffs. Giants seasons, or at least the idea of playing important games in them, have generally been over by the end of October. Sometimes, by the end of September. Below, a look at how the Giants began (and ended) each of the last 13 seasons.

USA crashes out of World Cup with Round of 16 loss to Belgium – Stars And Stripes FC
There were a lot of good memories from this World Cup. A lot of good moments along the way. The opening 4-1 win over Paraguay was sensational, a party that set the tone for the tournament. The 2-0 win over Australia kept that momentum going. The 2-0 win over Belgium – especially Malik Tillman’s sensational free kick when the USA was down to 10 men – will live on in the memory. Those were good moments. But with tonight’s loss, the tournament feels incomplete. The team seemed poised to go further. A tournament that had begun so brightly hit a sudden stop tonight, fading out quickly, and it feels, prematurely.
