Jaylen Brown practiced fully Monday and said he feels “great” after tweaking his hamstring Wednesday.
Brown, who suffered the injury during the Celtics’ preseason finale against the Raptors, said “we’ll
see” when asked whether he plans to play in the regular-season opener versus the 76ers this coming Wednesday.
It appears his departure from the Toronto game was more so a precautionary measure than anything else.
“I wasn’t too concerned,” Brown told reporters. “ … I was fine. Maybe a little tweak, but nothing crazy.”
Brown appeared to be moving well after practice Monday and said he’s taking it “one day at a time.”
Brown also discussed former Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau’s visit to practice, noting that he “took a lot” from their conversation.
He said Thibodeau broke down film and talked to coach Joe Mazzulla from a “top-down perspective” regarding what the Knicks wanted to do when Brown and Jayson Tatum had the ball in their hands.
Learning directly from a coach that defeated the Celtics was a first for Brown, and he’s grateful for the opportunity.
“It allows you to grow,” Brown told reporters. “If you’re humble enough to listen, it’ll allow you to go grow.”
