The Las Vegas Raiders are in the middle of OTAs, hoping to build team chemistry with a new head coaching staff. Klint Kubiak is attempting to build a winner in Las Vegas after back-to-back dreadful seasons by the Silver and Black.
One of the weapons that will be at Kubiak’s disposal is superstar tight end Brock Bowers. The two-time Pro Bowler got the head coach’s attention and was called a “football robot from heaven”. The quote got around quickly, and Bowers found amusement in the nickname.
“No, that
was a first, but I guess it’s compliment. So, it’s pretty funny. It’s pretty funny.”
Bowers Teamates joined in on the fun, as the quote spread around the locker room.
“They thought it was funny too. They were all poking fun at me and stuff, so it was good.”
The former Georgia Bulldog’s early impressions of Kubiak have started off on a good note. He has become a fan of his new head coach’s approach and on-field demeanor.
“Yeah, no, I mean, he’s very serious, all about football, which I like. I mean, he’s all about ball and
means he just doesn’t mess around, so I like that a lot. So, definitely is going to help us out in the long
run.”
With Bowers healthy after a season dealing with a knee injury, fans should expect fireworks from the third-year tight end. He has been dominant at OTAs so far and is living up to the new nickname that will be with him for the rest of his career.
