Lance Gibson Jr. vs. Chase Hooper squared off earlier tonight (Sat., Mar. 28, 2026) at UFC Seattle LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. In a stellar performance, Gibson defended the takedowns and knocked out the talented grappler in round one.
Hooper was aggressive to start the fight, walking Gibson down with combinations of punches and kicks. Gibson circled well and bided his time, however, looking to time big counter punches. Hooper timed an early takedown
attempt well, but Gibson showed really good defense in maintaining his footing and reseting to center. When Hooper went back to the takedown, Gibson rocked his world with a nasty defensive elbow.
Watching “Fearless” finish the fight was really impressive work. With Hooper hurt, he methodically worked for the finish, landing a couple heavy high kicks and some nasty knees. He put Hooper on the canvas more than once, forcing the referee’s hand in the very first round.

This was a great sophomore performance from Lance Gibson Jr! His UFC debut came on short-notice against King Green and saw him understandably low volume and hesitant versus the longtime veteran. Given a full camp, Gibson was able to effectively show off his skills and athletic ability en route to his first UFC win.
