Indiana men’s basketball landed its latest prospect on Saturday when Vaughn Karvala, a 4-star small forward in the class of 2026, announced his commitment to the Hoosiers during a YouTube livestream.
Karvala
has been impressive at the high school level and shot up the recruiting rankings in the past several months. Last season, when he was still with Oregon High School in Oregon, Wisconsin, he played a game at Monona Grove High School and faced the dreaded “overrated” chant pretty early into the matchup.
Karvala was still a highly-ranked and sought after prospect at the time and it’s far from uncommon for high school student sections to taunt top recruits. Well, he had a response.
Oregon ended up winning, 64-61, and was helped with a massive performance from Karvala: 39 points, 16 rebounds and more than a few blocks.
