Good morning, Fear the Wall.
Happy Monday, again. It’s good to see you all (see that’s a joke, I cannot actually see any of you. This is a website. Very clever of me, if you’re keeping up). It has been three days since Christmas, and I am already beginning to dread the return to the real world. There’s still a good few days of safety and security left, but, the sheer inevitability makes me very, very ill.
Something else that makes me ill is Borussia Dortmund. Let’s talk about that bunch.
BVB News
- Manchester City are closing in on a move for Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, and it seems Norwegian winger Oscar Bobb will be surplus to requirements for the Citizens. BVB could offer Bobb an opportunity to find playing time as he returns from injury. But of course we have no money, wah wah wah.
- Yan Couto did a nice little interview for RNBVB a few days ago, remarking how comfortable he and his family have become in Dortmund. I really want to see this lad succeed at BVB.
- Salih Özcan, Julien Duranville, and Cole Campbell all have an open route to a winter move away. I doubt BVB will let Duranville of Campbell leave without a path back, but who knows.
Bundesliga News
- Both Dortmund and Leverkusen have been linked to midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, but they would have to beat out Inter, who have a buy back clause.
- Eintracht Frankfurt are set to sign Bundesliga 2. top scorer Younes Ebnoutalib. History would tell us that he will go on to be one of the best strikers on the market in about 1.5 seasons.
- All of Konrad Laimer, Serge Gnabry, and Leon Goretzka may be set to extend their contracts in Munich.
I think the
second half of the season will be really interesting for BVB. With seemingly very little to play for, Kovac could lose the locker room entirely, or really focus in his tactics and get the team humming. Which do you think is more likely? let me know in the comments.
